The American Bar Association Standing Committee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel is hosting a virtual program entitled Family Law and Military Families on October 26, 2021 from 12:00 PM-3:20 PM Eastern.

This program focuses on a wide-range of family law matters in military families, including military pension division and Survivor Benefit Plan coverage in divorces, child custody and visitation matters, LGBTQ issues, along with how the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) applies to family law cases.

The program is designed for military attorneys working in legal assistance, as well as civilian lawyers whose practices involve military-connected clients or issues.

Registration deadline for the live CLE webinar is October 25, 2021.


For this 3-hour CLE:

  • $45 for ABA members;
  • $90 for non-members.
  • FREE for all military attorneys (Judge Advocates), military paralegals, and civilians employed by the military who sign-up before the live webinar.

Participants are encouraged to download CLE program materials, beginning October 25. Registrants will be emailed instructions for downloading materials.

  • CLE Credit Comments:

    The ABA will seek 3 hours of CLE credit in 60-minute states, and 3.6 hours of CLE credit for this program in 50-minute states. Credit hours are estimated and are subject to each state’s approval and credit rounding rules.
