Presenters include:

Christina Royer is a Partner with Elfvin, Klingshirn, Royer & Torch, LLC. She has practiced exclusively in the area of employment law representing individuals since 2004. Ms. Royer was selected as a Rising Star from 2009 to 2011 by Ohio Super Lawyers magazine and has been selected as a “Super Lawyer” in the area of Employment Law by Ohio Super Lawyers magazine since 2012. Ms. Royer's practice areas include representing individuals in cases involving employment discrimination and retaliation; unemployment compensation claims; non-compete agreements; and severance negotiations. Ms. Royer is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Ohio, Northern District of Ohio, Southern District of Ohio, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court of the United States. Ms. Royer is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Ohio Employment Lawyers Association, where she has served on the Board and the Amicus Committee since 2007. She also served as Chair of the Cleveland Employment Lawyers Association from 2011 to 2015. Ms. Royer is also a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, serving as the 2014-2015 Chair of the Court Rules Committee, and as a member of the Committee since 2013. She has been a member of the Cleveland Employment Inn of Court since its inception in 2005.In addition to her law practice, Chris conducts investigations of employee disputes and formal complaints, providing a neutral, third-party perspective.

Julie C. Cortes is a Supervising Attorney with The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland. She has devoted her career to addressing the legal issues faced by Cleveland’s low-wage workers and provides direct representation to clients facing wage theft, barriers to employment, and the need for unemployment compensation. Ms. Cortes recently completed The Innovation Mission Fellowship through the Sisters of Charity Foundation working on a project to support the needs of low-income and neighborhood-based entrepreneurs. Ms. Cortes recently stepped down as co-chair for the statewide Employment Law Task Force for Ohio’s legal aid organizations since, a position she held since 2009. In 2014, Ms. Cortes received The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland Claude E. Clarke award for outstanding service through professional performance and commitment to Legal Aid and its clients. She is currently a member of the Ohio Employment Lawyers Association, Cleveland Employment Lawyers Association, and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.

Daniel Natalie is a Supervising Attorney with the Intake Group and Volunteer Lawyers Program (VLP) at the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland. As Intake Supervisor, Mr. Natalie reviews cases daily to ensure compliance with case acceptance guidelines, financial eligibility, federal funding restrictions, and Ohio legal ethics. Among his VLP projects, he helps manage Legal Aid’s “virtual” employment law clinic, pro bono Limited Income Tax Clinic, various pro se divorce projects, as well as various pro bono immigration projects. Prior to joining Legal Aid, Mr. Natalie practiced immigration law with the firm of Jennifer I. Peyton, LLC in Cleveland. Mr. Natalie represented clients before federal immigration agencies in family-based petitions and applications for immigration relief for victims of crime, violence, and persecution. He litigated numerous removal hearings before US Immigration Courts. Mr. Natalie is a graduate of Miami University and of Case Western Reserve University School of Law and is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Jason E. Dawicke has operated Dawicke Law, LLC, as owner since 2009. He has focused his practice almost exclusively on employment law with an emphasis on unemployment representation. Mr. Dawicke has assisted myriad claimants through the unemployment process, including representation at unemployment hearings. Mr. Dawicke is licensed to practice in all Ohio courts as well as the Southern District of Ohio.
