Pro Bono Asylum Training Part 2`

Topics:
  • Continuing Legal Education Program (CLE)
  • Asylum

This is the second part of a two-part virtual, pro bono asylum training led by experts from the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC).  During this training, NIJC attorneys will provide best practices for working with asylum seekers and developing supporting evidence in order to prepare strong asylum claims, as well as strategies for presenting asylum arguments before USCIS and the immigration court.  Illinois and Indiana CLE credit is available. *Please note that new pro bono attorneys must participate in both parts of this training before taking an asylum case with NIJC.*  This training is intended for attorneys who are able to accept an asylum matter through NIJC within the next three months or who are already representing an NIJC asylum client.  Asylum cases are time and resource-intensive.  For this reason, NIJC is generally only able to refer non-detained asylum matters to attorneys at mid-to-large law firms that have sufficient resources to support these cases.
