Why You Should Attend
This program is designed to provide attorneys, advocates, school district employees, and special education service providers with an understanding of the latest legal developments in special education law. Experienced faculty will review recent case law impacting California practitioners and then take an in-depth look at the legal and practical implications of these cases on students with disabilities and their educators.

What You Will Learn
• A review and discussion of Ninth Circuit case law from 2019 to present.
• An analysis of the administrative “exhaustion” requirement as it pertains to alleging IDEIA, Section 504, ADA or any special education potentially related claims in state or federal court.
• A technical and practical discussion of the least restrictive environment requirement and its interplay with FAPE (free appropriate public education).
• A detailed look at legal and advocacy strategies for students with IEPs who are also in the juvenile court system. This will include practical advocacy tips for parents and school districts to ensure that the rights of this vulnerable group of students are protected.
