Governor Tom Wolf has issued a Proclamation proclaiming October 20 - 26, 2019, to be PRO BONO WEEK in Pennsylvania. The proclamation encourages all Pennsylvanians to recognize and appreciate the dedication and contributions of these law professionals to enhancing the lives of their clients, and to support pro bono legal work in their communities.

The Proclamation recognizes that National Pro Bono Week is being celebrated during that period and that the Pennsylvania Bar Association is joining with the American Bar Association to sponsor this October’s annual National Pro Bono Week celebration.

It recognizes the week as an opportunity to highlight the differences lawyers make in their communities; to recruit and train more pro bono volunteers; and to acknowledge the partnerships that form the basis for many of the private bar's most successful pro bono efforts.

Further, the proclamation states that the commonwealth is a better place when we offer support and resources to those in need, and that Pennsylvania is a leader in celebrating National Pro Bono Week, with annual events at many sites across the Commonwealth.
