Defending a consumer in district court many times depends on information or documents that cannot be gotten in discovery because it is limited in District Court or because they are in the hands of someone other than the defendant. This training will cover how to get documents or information from a creditor or others via subpoenas, and informal discovery methods. Learn where to go to find useful information for your client's defense in cases ranging from bail bond to debt buyer to landlord tenant collections. This training is offered via live webinar, and will be recorded for later viewing. Please note that this training requires a pro bono commitment to attend a Consumer Protection Project clinic or take a pro bono case for representation.
