In celebration of DC Pro Bono Week, the Network for Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC) is offering two sessions of its D.C. Superior Court Tour. Click below to register for one of the following sessions:

Monday, October 21, 2019, 10:00 – 11:00 am
Thursday, October 24, 2019, 2:00 – 3:00 pm

The tour will start at the Information Desk on the 1st floor of the main building of D.C. Superior Court.

This learning opportunity is ideal for attorneys interested in assisting survivors of crime (e.g. theft, simple assault, etc.), as well as attorneys with a specific interest in assisting survivors of domestic violence, dating abuse, sexual assault, and stalking. It will include an introduction to the Criminal Division, the Domestic Violence Division, the Domestic Violence Intake Center, and more! Participants will learn a brief overview of Crime Victims’ Rights history, and how Crime Victims’ Rights can be used to benefit and protect survivors of crime in criminal proceedings of all types (identity theft, homicide, hate crimes, domestic violence, elder abuse, etc.). Participants will also learn how survivors of domestic violence, dating abuse, sexual assault, and stalking access Civil Protection Orders (CPOs) in DC, and how these civil cases overlap with criminal proceedings. Finally, participants will learn about pro bono opportunities NVRDC has to offer.

Participants: This tour is primarily designed for attorneys interested in (or already committed to) DC pro bono opportunities, but other colleagues are welcome to attend, space permitting! There is no requirement that participants commit to a pro bono matter in order to attend. This event is offered free of charge.

Space is limited! Registration will close on Friday, October 18, 2019, at 11:59 pm. Questions? Contact Alex Scott, Pro Bono Coordinating Attorney, at probono@nvrdc.org.

NVRDC is committed to providing access, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodation in its services, programs, and employment. To request an accommodation, contact Alex Scott, Pro Bono Coordinating Attorney, at least ten (10) days in advance at probono@nvrdc.org.
