The presenter will discuss federal benefits eligibility after a disaster, the sequence of delivery, common legal issues that arise as survivors navigate applications for, and denials of, FEMA and SBA benefits. The presenter will also discuss the role of pro bono attorneys after a disaster.

• Types of Federal assistance available in disasters through the Federal Response Plan (FRP).
• The disaster response and recovery cycle.
• Eligibility criteria for major types of assistance.
