Unfortunately, many caregivers do not know how to obtain the legal guardianship necessary to adequately provide for children in their care so they can make decisions about their education, medical needs and living arrangements.

Do you need help establishing a legal guardianship so that you can ensure that the basic needs of a child in your care are met? At this clinic, low income, unrepresented persons seeking to establish probate guardianships for minors whose parents can't or won't care for them will be assisted by pro bono attorneys in completing the necessary court forms.

Same day, in person registration required. Registration begins at 9:30a.m. in Room 230 of the Los Angeles Superior Court, 111 North Hill Street. No telephone or online registration available.

It is not necessary to bring children to the clinic.

Once registered, eligible caregivers will be assigned to a volunteer attorney to meet with them and help them fill out the necessary, on-line court forms to be appointed as guardians over the youth.
