LGBT Bar's Manhattan Tuesday Night Clinic

Topics:
  • Clinic

ABOUT

In the 1980s at the height of the AIDS crisis, LeGaL established the Manhattan walk-in Clinic, recognizing the legal needs of the LGBT community. The Clinic gives members of the LGBT community an opportunity to speak with a volunteer attorney for a holistic consultation regarding the Clinic visitor’s legal concerns. The Clinic does not provide direct representation but makes references to culturally competent attorneys, whether as a paid client or on a pro bono basis.

TIME AND LOCATION

The Manhattan Clinic is held every Tuesday from 6:00 to 8: 00 p.m. at 208 W 13th St., New York, NY 10011.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Manhattan Clinic is staffed by volunteer attorneys who are available to provide general information, advice, and counsel, but not legal representation. Consultations average approximately 15 – 20 minutes per visitor but may last longer given the complexity of the case.
