The Georgia Capital Defender is pleased to announce that due to the generous cooperation of  Robert Wesley, the 9th Circuit Public Defender in Orlando, FL, "Telling the Client's Story" will be held in conjunction with the 9th Circuit Daubert Training at the Barry University School of Law in Orlando. This seminar is open only to capital criminal defense team members. Due to a limited seating capacity, criminal defense attorneys, mitigation specialists or fact investigators with a pending death penalty case will be given priority. Registration

The registration deadline has been extended, will close on October 25, 2019. The registration fee to attend this conference is $200. Your registration is not complete until your check is received in the mail. Scholarship Information

NACDL offers scholarship assistance for public defense providers to attend Continuing Legal Education programs. The scholarships are awarded in the form of full or partial reimbursement of the registration costs. Limited travel reimbursement stipends may also be awarded to qualifying individuals to help defray the costs of travel and lodging.

 

Schedule

On-site registration will be held Friday, November 8, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.  The first session will begin at 1:00 PM. The program will conclude by 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 10, 2019.

Cancellations

Any registered attendee who cannot attend must cancel their registration by emailing Becky Kincaid (bkincaid@gacapdef.org). If registration is cancelled by October 28th, the registration fee will be returned. If registration is cancelled after October 29, the registration fee will not be returned. Registration may be transferred to a team member or an attorney with a death penalty case.

CLE

Georgia Public Defender Council is an accredited CLE provider in Georgia. GPDC will seek 14 hours of Georgia CLE credit for this program. Attendees seeking credit in any other state will receive a certificate of attendance and any materials necessary to submit to their respective CLE Board for individual course approval. Contact your state CLE Board for accreditation information for your state. CLE expenses are the attendees’ responsibility.
