  • Community Education/Outreach

Child dependency mediation is a process in which trained neutral mediators facilitate the resolution of juvenile court proceedings, which are state-initiated legal actions undertaken to address the needs of children who have been abused or neglected by their parents or caretakers and who require protection and safe, permanent homes. Southern California Family Mediation serves all 25 Los Angeles County Dependency courtrooms and provides specially trained neutral meditators for these children.

This class will teach you about the mediation process in the dependency system and its goal, which is to come up with a plan that all parties-parents, attorneys, social worker and CASA-agree is best for the child and safe for all parties involved.
