In honor of National Pro Bono Week 2018, The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program (TVC) announces our third annual TVC Legal Muster. The TVC Legal Muster Pop Up Clinics will offer information, referrals, and resources for underserved veterans across the nation’s capital (NE, NW, Maryland). TVC launched the Legal Muster in 2016 to help increase legal services outreach to veterans and their families, caregivers and survivors, in support of the community’s effort to enhance wrap-around care for veterans who are often unaware of the resources that may be available to them and their loved ones.

TVC volunteer attorneys team up with local area law students to triage legal matters for veterans. Once the intake is completed, TVC inquires as to possible case placement through our resources and community partner channels. These trained professional volunteers offer vital help to veterans by interviewing and pulling pertinent information for review by experienced and trained TVC attorneys, giving veterans the vetted referral information so badly needed and in a timely manner.

TVC Legal Muster Pop Up Clinics will be held on October 26, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the DC VA Medical Center (DCVAMC) (50 Irving Street NW), from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Easter Seals/Cohen Clinic in Silver Spring, Maryland, and a Wills for Vets Clinic from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Neighborhood Legal Service Program (NLSP) (64 New York Ave NE).  Attorneys and students interested in volunteering should contact Samantha Stiltner, TVC Staff Attorney and Program Manager, (202) 733-3317 or visit The Veterans Consortium website for more information.
