Veterans Law Symposium: Serving the Illinois Veteran

The John Marshall Law School Veterans Legal Support Center & Clinic is presenting an all-day program featuring experts from the legal, military, and medical professions who will discuss the legal issues facing Illinois veterans and service members. Among the goals of the conference are bringing awareness to the legal community on issues their veteran clients may encounter, educating the legal community on the laws designed to protect our State’s veterans and improving the quality of legal services given to them. Topics to be discussed include: Benefits available to IL Veterans; handling debts owed to the VA; employment rights of IL service members; representing clients with PTSD & TBI; upgrading military discharges; and the financial exploitation of veterans. Brig. General Stephen K. Curda, USA, Retired, will provide a keynote address discussing the current mission of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.
