WHO WE ARE
The Truancy Intervention Project (TIP) is a program serving children in Atlanta Public and Fulton County Schools who are chronically absent from school and, as a result, have been referred to the Juvenile Court or for early intervention at the school level.
WHAT WE DO
TIP strives to decrease absenteeism rates and provides families with the resources and services necessary to ensure good attendance and success in school.
WHAT IS MY ROLE?
TIP volunteers work with children and families through regular contacts to make sure that the assigned child is in school every day. Volunteers also encourage their TIP child to excel in school in order to become successful.
DO I HAVE TO BE AN ATTORNEY? No. We need attorneys to serve as Lawyers in truancy cases, but we also need non-attorneys as guardians ad litem, role models, and advocates.
