The Maryland Partners for Justice Conference is sponsored by the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland each year.

The Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland's (PBRC's) annual Maryland Partners for Justice Conference is an all-day program dedicated to the examination of critical legal issues facing the poor and most vulnerable members of our community. This Conference presents a unique opportunity for legal services program staff, the public and private bar, members of the judiciary, human services agencies, elected officials and others to strategize as to how to best address these legal needs and improve access to justice. The economic downturn has impacted all aspects of society yielding an unprecedented ripple effect. The upside down housing market, rising unemployment and lack of community stability have pushed many into a new realm of poverty or near poverty to which they are unaccustomed. This causes a level of frustration and stress for legal services advocates who are already overwhelmed. The conference of 16 panels and this year's dynamic Keynote Speaker, Dean Strang, of the popular series "Making of a Murder" will inspire conversation and innovative planning for new approaches to some of our most challenging problems around social and economic justice.
