Wake Forest University School of Law Pro Bono Project, Lawyer on the Line, will send out a batch of new case referrals to trained Wake Law students (up to 15-20 cases) during National Pro Bono Week. Through the Lawyer on the Line pro bono project, Wake Law students work in conjunction with Legal Aid to screen potential clients to determine whether they have valid legal issues touching on bankruptcy, housing, employment discrimination, taxes, expunction, guardianship, and many others. Wake Law students conduct initial client interviews, research the legal issues with a professor, contact the client with findings, and forward the case onto Legal Aid.
