Since 1940, federal law has protected those employees who leave their civilian jobs to serve our nation in uniform. The presenters will discuss the broad protections for servicemember-employees and their families under USERRA and FMLA, and how those laws impact Minnesota employers. Topics will include recent developments in dealing with disabilities incurred during military service, benefits for returning servicemembers, leave provisions under FMLA for their family members, and recent case law regarding the enforceability of arbitration clauses.
