Housing Eviction Expungement Workshop

Topics:
  • Training (non-CLE)
  • Housing

Trained volunteers (attorneys, paralegals and law students) are invited to participate in MMLA's Housing Expungement Workshop.

This project matches pro bono attorneys and other volunteers with low income individuals who have evictions in their rental histories. Volunteers work with screened clients and help in the development of a case file, drafting of an expungement motion, and in-court representation. Volunteers who represent clients through this process agree to represent clients in Hennepin County housing court. Volunteers are supervised by MMLA attorneys and invited to attend housing expungement hearings, prior to representing clients. To attend the workshop, a volunteer must first participate in a Housing Eviction Expungement training session and register with the pro bono coordinator.
