The Austin Bar Association offers free legal advice to military veterans and their families on a monthly basis at the Austin VA Outpatient Clinic. Attorney volunteers will provide brief, legal advice.
Veterans, please note: You must arrive by 3:30 to receive assistance. Attorney volunteers will not be able to provide legal services such as wills or filing for divorce at the clinic. We will provide local legal resources if further legal assistance is needed.
To best assist you, please bring any paperwork that is relevant to your case. This includes copies of all pertinent claims, correspondence and rulings from the court, agency, or VA.
If you are seeking veterans benefits or a discharge upgrade, please bring a copy of your DD214and any evidence related to your claim. Benefit counselors are available at the VA Commission office onsite.
