The Poverty Simulation is a specially-developed experiential program designed to help lawyers, judges, and other court professionals better understand the day-to-day struggles that many in our community face in trying simply to maintain their basic needs. During the simulation, each participant will be assigned the role of a community member experiencing poverty or of a service provider; the half-day moderated and interactive exercise will simulate a month in the life of low-income families, followed by a collaborative debriefing and brainstorming session.
