On Wednesday October 23, 2013 the Harold Albritton Leadership Award will be presented to Alyce Manley Spruell. . The Albritton Award was created by the Alabama State Bar in 2011 to honor the vision and leadership Albritton showed by establishing the Bar's Volunteer Lawyers' Program in 1991. As the first chair of the bar's Pro Bono Celebration Task Force, Spruell' s energy and innovative approach set an example for other bar groups throughout the nation, including the American Bar Association.
