Deming City Council meets 6 p.m., today at City Hall in the John Strand Municipal Building located at 309 South Gold Ave.

City Council will be voting on resolutions to approve a proclamation, declaring Pro Bono Day on Monday, Oct. 21.

In an effort to assist residents of Deming with low incomes, the Pro Bono Day would allow residents access to legal aid through legal clinics that are planned through out the state. Planned events on Pro Bono Day will also honor lawyers and judges for making a difference in the state.

The Access to Justice Commission and the American Bar Association sponsor the yearly event.
