On June 26, 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court declared Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional, opening a path to immigration benefits for same-sex families for the first time ever. Now that several months have passed, we have a better understanding of what is going well for immigration applicants and what issues remain.
