Over one million people in the Chicago metropolitan area have limited English proficiency (LEP). Learning how to work effectively with interpreters therefore is a skill that all attorneys must have in their arsenal. During this seminar, panelists will provide a nuts and bolts training on how to build relationships with LEP clients, work with interpreters both inside and outside of the courtroom and other strategies for working with LEP clients. Participants will also learn how they can get involved in pro bono opportunities serving LEP clients.
