This year marks the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark decision in Gideon V. Wainwright. David M. Cook, chair of the MBA's Professionalism Committee, and Josh Spickler, a member of the Access to Justice Committee, will discuss the background and history of the decision, including its connection to Memphis through Abe Fortas, as well as whether a right to counsel in certain civil cases should be recognized. 3 hours of dual CLE credit.
