MVLP, the Pro Bono Initiative of the University of Mississippi School of Law, the DeSoto County Chancery Court and the DeSoto County Bar Association will partner together to provide legal services to pro se litigants on October 29, 2013, at the Desoto County Chancery Court in Hernando. Volunteer attorneys will assist self-represented litigants by drafting pleadings and providing legal advice. Law students will interview and assist the pro se litigants under the supervision of the volunteer attorneys. Attorneys who attend the CLE seminar and volunteer at the legal clinic can earn up to four hours of CLE credit. The CLE session will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the legal clinic will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Volunteers are asked to bring their laptops to use at the legal clinic.
