To Remake Justice in 2013: Responding to the Growing Justice Gap
An Interactive Panel Discussion
One Hour MCLE Ethics Credit

SoCal Pro Bono Managers in collaboration with LA Law Library will sponsor a panel discussion and dialogue with judges, private counsel and law school deans on how LA's legal community can respond to the growing challenges of ensuring that low-income individuals and families can access justice. At a time when court hours have been cut, law schools face financial challenges and increased pressure to provide clinical legal education, and law firm economics have changed, how can we work together to ensure that the legal system works for all, and not just those fortunate enough to be able to afford legal representation. The dialogue will consider attorneys' ethical obligations to provide pro bono service, discuss ways to encourage participation of volunteer attorneys and law students in legal services for low income clients, and strategize next steps for tackling these critical issues.

The MCLE Pro Bono Week event will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the LA Law Library, 301 W 1st Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. It will be followed at 5:30 p.m. by a reception sponsored by the LA Law Library.
