This training is open to all attorneys who are interested in volunteering with the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota's DREAMer Pro Bono Project. As part of its DREAMer Pro Bono Project, ILCM trains and mentors attorneys to represent immigrants in Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) cases.

DACA is a new immigration remedy being offered to undocumented immigrant youth. On June 15, 2012, the Obama Administration announced that deferred action would be offered to certain immigrant youths, often referred to as DREAMers, who have fulfilled certain educational requirements or served in the military, and met other specified conditions. It is estimated that nationwide, as many as 1.4 million people ages 15-30 could potentially benefit from this remedy. In Minnesota alone, the estimates of potentially eligible individuals are in the thousands.Through the DREAMer Project members of the private bar represent these cllients, helping to propel exceptional, deserving young adults towards a brand new chapter in the United States!

There is no fee for this training. However, all attendees agree to represent an ILCM DACA client. After the training ILCM will place pre-screened pro bono DACA clients with attendees for full representation. Please register for the event online at www.ilcm.org.

Please Note:

ILCM will not be able to provide office space for pro bono DREAMer Project cases. Therefore, all CLE attendees MUST have their own business address that can be used for client meetings and correspondence with USCIS, as well as a phone number where the attorney can be reached by his or her client. Please list your business address when registering for this CLE.
