Arkansas is celebrating National Pro Bono Week October 22-25, 2012, as part of a coordinated national effort to meet the ever-growing needs of the country's most vulnerable citizens.

The Responders First Outreach is a free service that will be provided by Arkansas attorneys from multiple legal services and pro bono organizations, law firms, bar associations, and the UALR Bowen School of Law.

Volunteer attorneys will be available to prepare simple wills, advance directives, and powers of attorney for health care and financial matters to first responders in central and northwest Arkansas. Firefighters, police officers, and emergency health care workers can participate and be provided with basic end-of-life legal documents.

  • CLE Credit Comments: Attorneys who volunteer will be paired with law students from the UALR Bowen School of Law and will be provided form documents and one hour of free CLE-accredited training immediately prior to the event. Volunteers will work under the sponsorship of the Center for Arkansas Legal Services.
