In early September 2011, the University of Wisconsin Law School Pro Bono Program appealed for the establishment of a Pro Bono Society to recognize the outstanding efforts of UW law students participating in pro bono service during their tenure at law school. Dean Margaret Raymond and the faculty subsequently approved the creation of this society, and all students now have the opportunity to be inducted after completing 50 hours of pro bono service.
On October 25th and 26th, the University of Wisconsin Law School Pro Bono Program will be promoting the law school's new Pro Bono Society in the law school atrium. We will be serving Celebrate Pro Bono cake to law students and faculty while raising awareness of the benefits and opportunities available for participating in local pro bono activities.
