This training on Virginia Landlord/Tenant Law will be presented on Wednesday, October 5th from 4:00 - 6:00pm in the courtroom of the Charlottesville General District Court on E. Market Street). The program is approved for 2.0 hours of CLE credit.
Access to Justice is a partnership with CABA, the University of Virginia School of Law, the Legal Aid Justice Center and the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society designed to create regular pro bono opportunities for the members of CABA. There will be volunteer panels in several substantive areas of law that will take cases of low-income clients through the two legal aid offices. This CLE program will
prepare interested lawyers to volunteer for slots at the Legal Aid Justice Center for housing issues. The program is appropriate as a refresher course or review of landlord-tenant law or as a sufficiently thorough introduction. The CLE will concentrate on the nature of the lease contract and the overlay of statutory law that applies to the unusual relations. The program will be lead by John Conover and Brenda Castaneda of the Legal Aid Justice Center.
