The State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division, the State Bar Pro Bono Project and Georgia Legal Services have partnered for nearly 25 years to provide disaster legal services to survivors of federally-declared disasters in Georgia.

Disaster legal services include a disaster helpline and intake for referral to volunteer lawyers for legal advice and/or representation in matters arising out of the disaster.

There are opportunities for law students to assist in the disaster legal services programming. Potential opportunities include outreach and intake, interviewing, materials preparation, basic research, training and program coordination.

Join us for a brief introduction to disaster legal services. Interested law students may then sign up to be "on call" volunteers should a federally-declared disaster in Georgia trigger the need for disaster legal services hotline and assistance.
