Applicants have been interviewed by a staff attorney or a pro bono attorney and then referred to the Equal Justice Volunteer Program (EJVP) for referral to our Divorce Night Court Clinic. These are divorce cases with no children, no abuse and little to no property. These case are handled by law student who are supervised by the Professors of Law. At the initial interview the student prepare the original petitions and are filed usually the next day. After the 60 day period clients return to the law school along with the law student and Professor of Law and their divorce is proved up by one of the Lubbock County District Judges. The District Clerk is also on hand to file-marked and hand deliver their Final Decree of Divorce.
