The Washington, DC Pro Bono community is offering free public information sessions on consumer credit to public schools and community-based organizations during pro bono week. These one-hour long sessions contain basic legal and practical information on consumer credit and borrowing to finance a home, as well as other large purchases. During a session, two volunteer attorneys (and a law student volunteer) will make a structured presentation about good credit practices and take questions. Sessions will not provide individual legal advice to those who attend, but general legal information. The presentation is particularly useful for students and young adults, who may be encountering student loans, credit card offers and other significant credit and borrowing decisions for the first time. Sessions are open to anyone in the general public. For more information, contact Harmony Gbe at roselina.gbe@hoganlovells.com.
