University of San Francisco (USF) School of Law will host a panel titled "Helping Yourself & Others with Pro Bono - Doing Well While Doing Good", followed by a reception. Students will hear from a dynamic panel of attorneys working in a variety of sectors - direct service, non-profit, bar association and law firm as they talk about the differences between "pro bono", "public interest" and "community service" and how pro bono work is relevant to every student's practice area interests and career goals. Students will learn how pro bono is a way to develop a variety of fundamental legal skills, an opportunity to explore various practice settings and client bases, how it can help students build relationships with practicing lawyers who can serve as important contacts for future employment and it can allow students to exercise leadership skills - all while serving the ever-growing needs of this country's most vulnerable citizens.
