Celebrate Pro Bono in DC at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law!

Topics:
  • Pro Bono Program/Legal Services Organization

The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, in conjunction with faculty, staff, the Legal Services Society, Students for Public Interest Law, The Student Bar Association, The Innocence Project Clinic, and Columbus Community Legal Services, is pleased to celebrate pro bono by recognizing two distinguished award-winning alumni who exemplify "pro bono" at its finest:

John E. McCarthy, Jr., Esq., class of 1989, of Crowell & Moring, LLP; and

Brian W. Stolarz, Esq., class of 1998, of K&L Gates, LLP.

Mr. McCarthy and Mr. Stolarz will discuss their particularly noteworthy cases and the reasons why pro bono work is a vital part of a lawyer's duty as well as a meaningful experience. To round out the panel, Nadjejda Nelson, one of our students who has extensively participated in public interest and pro bono work, will share her experience with the audience and explain why pro bono work is meaningful to her.

Finally, our "Know Your Pro Bono" reception will follow. Our sponsoring student organizations and Columbus Community Legal Services will ask questions about pro bono "trivia." Prizes will go to those who get an "A"!
