This unique program is designed for the lawyer with limited immigration experience but who has a commitment toward building a confident and practical understanding of immigration law so essential to the competent representation of immigration clients.

If that person is you, this is a great opportunity to achieve that goal in an engaging and practical way. More particularly, the course takes place in an informal setting around a conference table of no more than 15 participants for six weekly and lively discussions of how the law is applied to almost any immigration problem. So it's not your typical PowerPoint presentation; just good conversation and analysis of immigration issues directed by a prominent immigration lawyer who has seen it all.

Topics include: immigration and the Constitution, immigration preferences, qualifying for asylum with an emphasis on who are members of "a particular social group," crimes, frauds and other grounds for removal, discretionary relief from removal, acquisition of American citizenship and much more, accompanied by a 100-plus page comprehensive summary of the same topics reduced to common sense English.

The program will once again be presented by Donald Ungar, now retired, who brings to the discussion more than a half century of guiding clients through almost every corner of immigration law at every administrative and judicial level. And, Don has a talent for teaching with a touch of humor that will help you to make sense of immigration law when possible, and to deal with it when it's not.

This is a six week training series. It is limited to the first 15 people who register with full payment. You must attend each of the following dates from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm to receive full MCLE credits: September 6, 13, 20, 27, October 4, 10. If you miss a session, you will still receive credits for the dates that you did attend.
