The presence of Legal Observers at a demonstration can serve as a deterrent to unconstitutional behavior by law enforcement and can help people express their political views to the fullest extent possible. Law students, legal workers, lawyers, and community members are all welcome to attend this Legal Observer Training, where you will be guided through the basics of Legal Observing in a context where racial and gender implicit biases and stereotypes are relevant. The training will be conducted by NYC chapter members of the National Lawyers Guild and the National Conference of Black Lawyers.

Attendees will have the opportunity to join the National Lawyers Guild-NYC Chapter and/or the National Conference of Black Lawyers-NY Chapter to act as Legal Observers at future events. This course is being offered for free.

Registration is required by May 4
