The Medicare Rights Center will be presenting the course, Let's Learn Medicare: Navigating Part D Appeals, on Wednesday, February 16th at 9:30 a.m. This course will be presented by our Client Services & Program Counsel Doug Goggin-Callahan.

The presentation provides an in-depth look at the Medicare prescription drug benefit and explains in detail how to walk clients through an appeal on a denial of drug coverage.

Specifically, we will cover:

  • What is the Medicare drug benefit?
  • An overview of the Part D appeals process
  • How to appeal a Part D denial
  • Tips for success
  • Follow-up steps after winning an appeal

Participants will also receive a copy of our exclusive 30-page, comprehensive guide, Medicare Part D Appeals: An Advocate's Manual to Navigating the Medicare Private Drug Plan Appeals Process.

Fee: $110 per person

This course has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board for a maximum of 3.5 credit hours, all of which can be applied toward the Skills requirement. Content of the course is appropriate for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys in New York. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
