The City Bar Justice Center's Foreclosure Project is now entering its third year. Begun in collaboration with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and now receiving additional funding from the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal and NYC Service, the Foreclosure Project provides pro bono legal representation to New York City residents whose homes are threatened with foreclosure. We need your help.

Participating lawyers will be trained to represent homeowners in the settlement conferences now mandated for residential foreclosure actions, as well as assist homeowners with applications for loan modifications through the federal Home Affordable Modification Program. For homes that cannot be saved, volunteers help homeowners secure an orderly transition with minimal damage to credit.

This is a great opportunity to help your community while honing your advocacy skills.

Attendees agree to represent at least one client pro bono from the City Bar Justice Center in exchange for the free CLE training. Volunteers must be attorneys in good standing admitted in New York State.

Registration required. Please email Ben Seibel at bseibel@nycbar.org.
