Notice from New York District:

Change in Process Procedures for Applicants Granted Asylum by the Immigration Judge

This is to adivse you of a new procedure in cases where asylum has been granted by the immigration judge.

These cases must also have all security checks completed prior to issuance of an I-94 and EAD.

For the time being, cases will continue to be scheduled by the trial attorneys for an appointment on the 9th floor, EAD Unit. When they arrive for the appointment, they will be given a form G-325 to complete. This form is what will generate the necessary name checks.

Additionally, if the fingerprint check on file is more than 15 months old, we will have to reschedule them for a new fingerprint appointment.

Once all rquired checks are complete, an appointment will be sent to the applicant for EAD and I-94 issuance.

We regret this inconvenience.
