A message from San Francisco Asylum Office Director Emilia Bardini:

Starting Monday, August 11, the asylum unit will have "telephonic observers" during affirmative asylum interviews. They will not be interpreters - but rather will be listening for mistranslations, at which time they will speak up. Applicants will be informed, and in fact, will be in the room when the "observer" will be called.

Thanks,

Emilia
