4/10/08 Upgrade
We completed a code upgrade on probono.net last night. The upgrade included the following fixes and enhancements:
Enhancements
- Mailings tool:
1) ability to enter additional recipients on separate lines to allow admins to copy and paste lists directly into the field
2) changed the default sort order for mailings in the Admin Inbox to "sent date"
3) The Reply address defaults to the full name and email address of the admin who is logged in. The reply address can now display a full name by formatting the field as "Steven Thomas<steven@probono.net>" (without quotes).
- PBN staff can now send out monthly ecalendars directly from practice areas, in addition to the geo calendars. Please contact PBN if you wish to discuss PA-specific calendar mailings.
- Can now convert "thank you" page after a member submits a join form to FCKeditor content that can be edited. Admins can access this page by logging in and going to the following URL: http://[your site URL]/jointhisarea/success. For example, http://www.probono.net/statewebsites/jointhisarea/success. Email support@probono.net to request this enhancement.
- Content widgets (RSS, News, Calendar, New Cases) can now be embedded directly into flexible content landing pages. Email support@probono.net to request a widget.
- Join forms can have custom text boxes above the email field in Step One and above either the core area member or area specific questions in the full form. These text boxes can be used to add extra information about who should join your site.
- Changed Opps Guide label from "Contact for Volunteer Lawyers" to "To Volunteer, Contact:"
- Added code to webcast admin form that allows admins to embed webcasts into other websites. (Note: this is the first step in a TIG-funded project through Colorado Legal Services to allow admins to embed webcasts into LawHelp resources. The code does not work in ActivEdit fields on LawHelp or program sites yet.)
- Implemented code to clean-up "bad" HTML on flexible content pages.
Fixes
- Restored the Copy calendar item functionality.
- Icons displaying consistently for all library documents.
- Added back national opps guide redirects to MA and IL.
- Fixed error when scheduling a site report.
- Fixed issue where non-members received a blank screen when attempting to login to view restricted content.
- Fixed issue with apostrophes in organization names that cause a CF error in the Mailing tool.
- Fixed error when public users attempt to add content to a practice area using area-specific member types.
Backend Code Issues
- Fixed several issues related to the Join Form XML to allow making requested label and field changes easier.
- Made several fixes to search engine to increase speed and performance. (Note: this work is ongoing.)
- Made several fixes to new site set-up process.
- Made several fixes to how resource attachments are saved and searched.
Some functionality enhancements, just as editing the "thank you" page, require PBN to make a configuration change to your website. Please email support@probono.net with any requests or concerns regarding your website.
We are also continuing to actively monitor the site performance, so no need to report any site downtime or slowdowns.
