- Organization: Illinois Legal Aid Online
On Friday, March 10th, Illinois Legal Aid Online was awarded the IT Resource Center's first Technology Leadership Award, presented by Accenture. The award recognizes Chicago area non-profit organizations that demonstrate exemplary use of technology to further their missions. ILAO was selected winner from 61 applicants for the design and development of Illinois' statewide legal services website, www.IllinoisLegalAid.org.
Illinois Legal Aid Online is honored to have been chosen as the winner from a group of five finalists that included the Chicago Humanities Festival (runner-up), I-Go Car Sharing, Brookfield Zoo, and Nor-Wood Life Care (a residential facility for senior citizens). The panel of five judges were quite impressive too, including CIO's from Allstate Insurance, the Chicago Board of Trade, Exelon, and Accenture, and the CEO from the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago.
The Technology Leadership Award was presented at Tech Fest, the IT Resource Center's annual fundraiser, which drew over 400 people to the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The award carries with it a $7500 grant from Accenture, a donation of software from Microsoft, and a one-year IT Resource Center membership.
