About this site
This site is intended to provide resources for supporting statewide websites within the legal services community.
What is a Statewide Website?
Funded originally by the Legal Services Corporation, statewide websites are centralized website portals of legal information for the low and moderate income public and the public interest advocates who serve them. Usually a collaborative project of the state equal justice community, these sites are now available in all fifty states plus US territories.
What is Pro Bono Net?
Pro Bono Net is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase access to justice for the millions of poor people who face legal problems every year without help from a lawyer. Pro Bono Net has partnered with pro bono and legal aid organizations to build statewide websites, and many other access to justice websites, that offer powerful and sophisticated online tools to pro bono and legal aid advocates, and to provide critical legal information and assistance directly to the public.
