Our Family Law Project assists individuals, families with children or families with domestic violence in matters including marital dissolutions, child custody, child support, restraining orders, guardianships, conservatorships, wills, powers of attorney and probate litigation. This is a full-scope project in which the volunteer can take the case from start to finish. Depending on the circumstances of each case, cases can last for weeks, months or even years. Before you volunteer with this project, we ask that you attend our free MCLE training session.
Our trainings consist of a one hour introductory training by VLSP staff attorneys, which will cover policies and procedures for volunteering, followed by a 2-hour substantive portion which will either be webcasted or played from a DVD. After attending our training, we ask that you commit to taking 2 cases within a year of the training.
Pre-registration is required to attend this training. Please email mcolla@sfbar.org to find out more information, or to register.
- CLE Credit Comments: 3 Hours of MCLE Credits
