Do you want to represent your clients with a confidence that comes from an understanding of basic concepts, laws, and procedures, from one end to another? Like the fabled blind men who were asked to describe an elephant by touching only one part of its anatomy, some lawyers may find it equally difficult to discover what immigration law is all about from working on just a few immigration cases. Designed for a lawyer who wants to boost his/her knowledge and confidence, this course covers the fundamental concepts and elements of immigration law and procedures. Back by popular demand, this comprehensive six-session course will be led by Don Ungar, who is not only well-known for his fresh and innovative approach to immigration law over the past four decades, but also for his talent as a skilled teacher of immigration law. The program will cover all major themes of immigration law including: Constitutional issues, grounds of exclusion and deportation and related procedures, waivers and relief from removal, the various immigration preference categories, nonimmigrant classes, refugees and asylum, adjustment of status, administrative appeals and judicial review and the acquisition of American citizenship.
