The Homeless Legal Assistance Project (HLAP) advocates for homeless persons to overcome legal barriers to housing and to obtain and preserve income. Types of cases include eviction defense, Social Security disability benefits, and appealing denial and/or termination of public benefits.
HLAP is a program of the Tulsa and Oklahoma City Law Offices of Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and serves homeless persons in Tulsa and Oklahoma Counties. HLAP receives funding for the Tulsa Office from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Anne & Henry Zarrow Foundation. HLAP receives funding for the Oklahoma City Office from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City of Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation and the Kirkpatrick Foundation.
