Lawyers serving the public good.

Legal Center for the Elderly & Disabled

Description: The Legal Center provides services to seniors (60+) and low-income, permanently disabled people, mainly offering direct representation and other civil legal services to clients, but also limited community education, legislative advocacy, and occasional class representation. Pro Bono Opportunities: Primary needs are for licensed attorneys to help "triage" requests for service from potential clients by acting as a volunteer "attorney-of-the-day". This person digests information from potential client intakes, and either gets more pertinent information, provides counsel and advice and/or attempts to resolve the potential client's problem. Acting as pro bono co-counsel of lead counsel also possible. Please contact the program directly for more information.
